Top chefs announced for Powderham Food Festival 2018 as tickets released

Powderham Food Festival has revealed the line-up of high profile chefs who will be featuring at this year’s Festival on 6th and 7th October 2018. Star of The Hungry Sailors, James Strawbridge will be making his debut appearance at the exciting autumnal foodie event alongside broadcaster Judi Spiers, who will be hosting the chefs’ theatre across the weekend.

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Powderham Castle, chef and author, James Strawbridge, will be joined at the two day celebration of South West food and drink by acclaimed patisserie chef Colin Bennett, Ashley Wright, Head Chef at the award winning Horn of Plenty, respected Chef Director at the Ashburton Cookery School, Darrin Hosegrove, award-winning cake bakers and regulars on Channel 4’s Extreme Cake Makers, Phil and Christine Jensen and gut-health expert, Katie Venner from Tracebridge Sourdough and Fermenteria.

Tickets for the Powderham Food Festival have now been released for sale and alongside the exciting chef line up, this year’s Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever before with over 170 exhibitors providing all things edible, drinkable and delectable.

Powderham Food Festival, now back for its seventh year, in the grounds of the Earl and Countess of Devon’s home, has established itself as the Autumnal foodie event with a packed programme of food related activities for all the family: take part in the Great Devon Chilli Challenge or watch smokin’ hot demonstrations in the Theatre of Fire and Smoke, hosted by barbeque legends Simon Dyer and John Gower. Young ones are also well catered for with a chance to get hands on with cooking demonstrations led by the Fun Kitchen, or sit back and enjoy comedian, Dan the Hat.

Set in the scenic grounds of Devon’s finest castle, Devon foodies won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to try exciting street food, discover new artisan products, enjoy live music, shop and learn from the top chefs in the area.

Festival director, Bob Small has been working hard with the team to make sure this year’s event is even bigger and better than before.
