Local Councillor for Torridge District Council Phillip Hackett joined West Country housebuilder Devonshire Homes to celebrate the official opening of the new homes site in Halwill Junction.

Councillor Hackett cut the ceremonial ribbon along with Councillor Victoria Osbourne at Devonshire Homes’ Chilla Junction development off Chilla Road. Local businesses and community members, key stakeholders and partners were all in attendance at the special reception at which guests had the first opportunity to look around the brand new show home.

The launch event gave attendees the perfect opportunity to witness Devonshire Homes’ high-quality build first-hand in addition to finding out more about the range of new homes coming to Halwill Junction and schemes which help local house hunters step on or move up the property ladder.

Construction is well underway at Chilla Junction, and Devonshire Homes has already experienced a significant level of interest from home buyers looking to move to Devon’s ‘Ruby Country’ in the heart of the county. Ultimately, Chilla Junction will be a collection of 32 houses and bungalows ranging from two to five bedrooms, some of which will come under Devonshire Homes’ affordable homes contribution.

Councillor Phillip Hackett, commented: “We are excited about the prospect of having new homes for local people, and affordable housing in Halwill Junction. The village has a very vibrant and wonderful community and it’s great news that there will be more new homes to add to, and enhance it.”

Sales Executives Vicky and Catherine are now based on site to assist home buyers, helping them find their next home whilst providing more information on the schemes and incentives available. Those interested in homes at Chilla Junction can look around the show home, which is in the impressive five bedroom Arlington house style.

Jane Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director at Devonshire Homes, commented: “We were thrilled to welcome Councillors Phillip Hackett and Victoria Osbourne, as well as familiar faces from the area and from our industry, to our launch event at Chilla Junction. The sun made a welcome appearance, and the event presented a perfect chance for us to showcase the site and give our guests a first look inside the show home.”
