Three representatives of Redrow post with a charity cheque at the summer party

Redrow raises over £13k for local charity

Redrow presented a cheque for £13,300 to Devon-based speciality theatre company Get Changed at their annual Summer Party at Deer Park. The cheque included funds raised from Redrow’s recent Golf Day, and from all their Get Changed charity fundraising activities since July last year.
Redrow, which employs 130 people from their West Country head office in Pynes Hill Exeter, hosts an annual summer party for staff, subcontractors and supporters.  This year around 160 people attended the Summer Party, and each person donated a minimum of £10 inside an envelope, which was entered into a raffle. Redrow’s subcontractors kindly donated the 20 raffle prizes, which included an Aston Martin driving experience, £200 John Lewis voucher, £100 M&S voucher, TV, Jeroboam of champagne, Exeter Chiefs tickets, and a Smeg kettle and toaster. The Summer Party itself raised  £7,090 for the charity.
Keith Miller, Regional Director for Redrow (West Country) commented: “We’re delighted to present Get Changed with this cheque. Everyone’s had a brilliant time at the party, and at the Golf Day – which was one of many fun events we’ve held for this worthy cause.”
An impressive £5,570 was raised during a day of birdies and bogeys at Redrow’s Golf Day at Woodbury Park Golf Club which contributed to the £13,300 cheque. A mix of Redrow employees and subcontractors made up the 19 teams that teed off at Woodbury Park to raise money for the local theatre charity and win themselves some top golf prizes. The tournament winner received a £250 spend in the Pro-shop that stocks everything from Titleist clubs to Motocaddy trolleys. The nearest pin and longest drive winners received a £50 voucher, 12 golf balls and  a bottle of champagne each.
Attending the Summer Party was Christine Munkenbeck, Chairman at Get Changed, who commented: “We were delighted to attend the party, and of course over the moon to receive the cheque. We can’t thank Redrow enough for the valuable support we’ve received. Redrow’s help has made a huge difference to the adults with learning difficulties whose lives benefit from Get Changed.”
