Wedmore’s worthy causes and charities invited to apply for a share of £5K by Blue Cedar Homes
Good causes in and around the village of Wedmore are being invited to apply for a share in a Community Fund from specialist retirement housebuilder Blue Cedar Homes.
The Project Community Fund makes available £5,000 for community-nominated causes situated within approximately three miles of the new homes at Holden Gardens, Holdenhurst, a development for over 55s comprising a mix of 10 detached, 2- and 3-bedroom houses. All freehold properties at Holden Gardens, just off Cheddar Road, are centred around a landscaped communal garden and summerhouse.
Local people can nominate causes such as schools, sports clubs, voluntary groups and charities. The £5000 fund can be split between a number of local groups or organisations and Wedmore Parish Council will assist in the selection process.
Blue Cedar Homes is applying the Project Community Fund to every new development it undertakes. Nick Hole, Blue Cedar Homes Managing Director, said: “As a responsible developer, we have always worked hard to support the communities where we build new homes and have sponsored many great causes over the years, ranging from bowling clubs and community shops, to football teams and breast cancer facilities.
“The Blue Cedar Homes Project Community Fund consolidates our community funding to make it easier for residents and groups to access. Whilst we’ll be providing £130,000 for community infrastructure improvements in Wedmore, alongside a financial contribution towards affordable housing in the area, the Fund is entirely separate from any planning obligations. It has been created simply because we believe in being a good neighbour and responsible community member.”
Final applications to the Blue Cedar Homes Community Fund are now taking place. To apply, please contact Lauren.England-Shepherd@Bluecedarhomes.co.uk before the closing date of Friday 31stMarch 2023.
Funding allocation will be determined by Blue Cedar Homes in collaboration with Wedmore Parish Council and announced on completion of construction at Holden Gardens.
