Passpawt.com, a new name in pet-friendly accommodation, is set to shake up the pet travel market in 2018 following its launch this week. Its aim is to become the confused.com of the sector, putting an end to the hassle of trawling through hundreds of websites, large and small, to find a ‘pawfect’ place to stay.
Instantly becoming the UK’s largest provider of pet-friendly accommodation, Passpawt.com has over 6,500 properties in the British Isles alone, and is tapping into a market that’s worth over £7 billion a year, £192m of which is spent on pet-friendly holidays in the UK.
Passpawt.com aims to expand its portfolio, which will include everything from cottages, yurts, shepherd huts, hotels, lodges and boats, to over 20,000 this year, including more than 12,000 European properties, many of which will be live and ready to book by the end of March 2018.
To mark its launch in the Year of the Dog, Passpawt.com is donating 5% of its commission made between January and the end of March 2018, to Canine Partners, a charity that provides specially trained dogs that help suffers of a range of complex conditions – such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and strokes. These vital assistance dogs are capable of everything from fetching help in an emergency to picking up dropped items, helping applicants undress, retrieve cash and cards from an ATM, and they’ll even load the washing machine.
With more than 240,000 pet friendly property bookings made in the UK each year, Passpawt.com hopes to donate thousands of pounds to Canine Partners, during what is the busiest booking period of the year for cottages and holiday homes.
Set up by a management team that includes Stewart Black – former Business Development Director for Love Cottages, and Blue Chip Holidays, and former Head of Sales at Homeaway Holiday Rentals – Passpawt.com has been created to address the fractured nature of the pet-friendly accommodation market.
Encompassing portfolios from many of the main providers of pet-friendly accommodation* in the UK, as well as hundreds of independent property owners, Passpawt.com promises to offer accommodation at the same price as can be found direct, putting an end to the need to undergo multiple searches for the ideal pet-friendly accommodation in 2018.
Passpawt.com also plans to become a hub for information on travelling with pets offering tips, guides on places to stay and visit, competitions, news, articles, advice and special offers from pet product partners.
Commenting on the launch of Passpawt.com, Stewart Black, Director of the UK’s largest pet-friendly accommodation portal, said: “We believe in simple solutions that work well for all. We want to make travel with pets the norm, not the exception, and so we’ve created a solution that gives both guests and owners of accommodation the information they need to ensure the best possible holiday experience.
“For the pet owner, Passpawt.com provides the easiest route to the largest collection of pet-friendly accommodation in the UK and beyond, at exactly the same price that they could find by going direct. Better still, it enables guests to see all the little extras that are provided by our holiday home hosts for our pet guests and their owners. We even provide area guides so that you can plan your break around things to do, places to visit and great experiences for you and your pet.
“Add to that planned tools that will help guests travel with their pets internationally, and an online ‘Passport’ for each pet so that guests can upload pictures, vaccination information and much more, and we believe we have a service that will prove incredibly popular.
“And, by booking with Passpawt.com, you can also do something truly meaningful as 5% of commission taken on bookings up to the end of March will go to our deserving friends at Canine Partners, enabling them to train canine companions that provide unconditional love, and much needed confidence and independence to their owners.”
