New HQ doubles office space for Devonshire Homes following a year of growth
West country independent house builder Devonshire Homes has announced it will be moving its HQ to a Grade II* listed building in the heart of Tiverton, Devon, due to continued expansion.
The firm has acquired Gotham House, an impressive 18th Century Georgian townhouse on Phoenix Lane in the market town of Tiverton. After expanding its team by close to 50% within the last 2 years, 37 members of staff will be making the move from Devonshire Homes’ Lowman Green office in Tiverton to Gotham House in December 2023.
After being rebuilt following a fire in 1731, Gotham House has a rich history and offers three floors of impressive office space. Many of its 18th Century features can still be seen today with the library containing books and manuscripts from the period and a mahogany spiral staircase dating back to its original constructions. Devonshire Homes’ meeting rooms will be located on the ground floor with staff occupying workspace on the first and second floor.
Enjoying a long-standing relationship with Lloyds Bank since 2016, Devonshire Homes’ office move has been made possible thanks to their continuing support.
Angus Cook, Managing Director at Devonshire Homes, commented: “We’re delighted to announce that as a result of continued business expansion, we are moving into Gotham House. Devonshire Homes has grown rapidly in the last 18 months and so have welcomed many new starters to our team which means we have outgrown our existing office at Lowman Green. As a team, we like being based in Tiverton, but we simply need more space. A move to this Grade II listed building ensures that we remain in the town that we have always called home, whilst enjoying more space inside an office with such impressive history.”
Devonshire Homes has been creating new homes and communities in towns and rural areas across the South West since 1992. The housebuilder specialises in providing homes which reflect the traditional characteristics and building styles of the region combined with high specification, contemporary interiors.
