Have your say on the regeneration plans for the former Cornwall Council Office Campus

November 25, 2024 | News

Cornish developer Treveth is inviting the local community in Truro to view the detailed proposals for the Treyew Road redevelopment and to meet the team aiming to regenerate this key area of the town.

A public consultation event will be held on Wednesday 27th November, from 1.30pm to 6.30pm at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY.

The drop-in event is an opportunity for the local community to find out more about Treveth’s proposed plans for the redevelopment at Treyew Road. The proposed plans will create a new neighbourhood designed to enhance social connections and create a supportive and vibrant environment for residents.

Members of the public will also have the opportunity to submit their feedback at the event or complete an online questionnaire at www.treveth.co.uk/treyew-rd.  The consultation website and questionnaire will be live from Wednesday 27th November 2024 until Friday 13th December 2024.

Since its launch in 2019, Treveth has been building high-quality new build homes, sustainable communities, and commercial developments in partnership with Cornwall Council to directly benefit people who live and work in Cornwall.

Playing its part in shaping Cornwall’s communities and places to positively benefit local people living and working in Cornwall, the Treyew Road regeneration will become the latest scheme to be brought forward by the B Corp accredited Cornish developer.

The 2.6ha Treyew Road site will be used to construct in the region of 120 new homes, delivering open market rent, affordable rent and shared ownership homes. The first phase will consist of 53 homes ranging from one to four bedrooms and will be prioritised for people with local connections, or those who are working in the local area.

Emma Rodgers, Senior Development Manager at Treveth, commented: “Our first community event which took place earlier in September was really well attended and provided us with some valuable input that we have considered when developing our design proposals for the site. We’re looking forward to meeting with local residents again and providing the opportunity to view these detailed proposals.

“The community’s feedback will help us positively shape the future of this key site, by improving community spaces and providing new homes for local people.

“Attendees will be able to see display boards which give a sense of what the new neighbourhood could look like, alongside receiving more information about the types of homes that will be coming, as well as Treveth’s approach to sustainability.”

Founded by Cornwall Council in 2019, Treveth now manages more than 160 properties across 6 developments and 48 units across 10 commercial sites.

Treveth was established to improve the quality of rented accommodation and to increase the availability of homes across the rental, shared ownership and private rental sectors for those who live, work in, or have family connections in the immediate vicinity of its sites. Treveth currently has over 420 homes in build for local residents in Tolgus, Liskeard, Newquay, and Bodmin.

Treveth has successfully managed and sold properties transferred from Cornwall Council, creating thriving communities which include Heathlands View, Bodmin; The Coppers, Tolvaddon and Tregover, Newquay.
