DCW Extends Chiefs Partnership On and Off the Pitch

Recycling at Sandy Park up as DCW renews deal and sponsors Christ Tshiunza

Recycling rates at Sandy Park soared at the start of the 24/25 season whilst they saw a 25.75% reduction in general waste compared to the same time period in the previous year all thanks to Exeter Chiefs’ sustainability partnership with Devon Contract Waste (DCW). Now, the Devon waste management company has confirmed it will continue the collaboration for the 2025/26 season, as well as sponsoring rising star Christ Tshiunza.

Last season, the partnership delivered impressive results in making Sandy Park more sustainable. With new recycling stations, improved waste segregation, and the enthusiastic support of Chiefs fan. Food waste collections were also introduced, helping generate renewable energy at Plymouth dairy Langage Farm, while strategically placed recycling points in high-traffic areas at the stadium made it easier than ever for fans to make sustainable choices.

Grant Scott, General Manager at DCW, said: “We’re thrilled to be extending our partnership with Exeter Chiefs and to be sponsoring Christ Tshiunza this season. What makes this initiative so successful is the teamwork between the club, fans, and our waste experts. The results show what can be achieved when everyone plays their part. The Chiefs are setting a great example for sports clubs across the UK.”

Mark Isaacs, Director of Stadium Operations at Exeter Chiefs, added: “We’re always looking for ways to improve sustainability at Sandy Park, and the results from last season speak for themselves. Working with DCW has made recycling easier for fans and staff, and together we’re not only improving operations inside the stadium, but also inspiring supporters to take these habits home.”

DCW and Exeter Chiefs will continue to build on this progress throughout the 2025/26 season, to drive recycling rates even higher and further reduce the stadium’s environmental footprint.
