The Challenge

Estuary Vets approached Absolute PR & Marketing ahead of the launch of their new, independently owned veterinary practice in Topsham, Devon. The team’s vision was to bring independent, compassionate veterinary care to the local area. However, as a new name in a competitive local market, there was a lot to be done in raising brand awareness, building an audience and registering new clients.

The challenge was clear: build excitement and trust within the local community, establish Estuary Vets as the area’s go-to independent practice, and ensure a strong launch that would translate into registrations and appointments

Our Solution

Absolute developed and delivered an integrated communications strategy to highlight Estuary Vets as a warm, professional, and community-focused brand.

We began with brand messaging that reflected the practice’s values – independence, compassion, experience, and local connection – ensuring these came through consistently across all communications. A new website was developed to convey trust and professionalism while highlighting practical benefits such as free parking and easy access.

Our content and PR campaign focused on authenticity and community. This included:

  • Refining of key messages to be used across all comms, including creation of taglines.
  • A series of organic social media campaigns building anticipation for the opening through construction updates, team introductions, and community engagement posts.
  • Content support for the website, including SEO-optimised service pages and engaging news updates.
  • Leaflet design and distribution across Topsham and surrounding communities to ensure offline reach and awareness among local pet owners.
  • Proactive media relations, including a press release responding to the CMA’s new veterinary transparency rules, positioning Estuary Vets as a leading example of openness and ethical practice in the sector.

Every element was designed to create trust and connection, positioning Estuary Vets as a genuinely independent practice run by local people, for local pets.
