The Challenge

To raise the profile of Treveth across Cornwall, positioning the company as an innovative developer that works “In Cornwall, For Cornwall” in partnership with Cornwall Council.

To build Treveth’s reputation as a B Corp accredited housebuilder that only develops in Cornwall with residential property offered to people with a local Cornish connection through residency, employment, or close family, discouraging second home ownership. The developer also has strong sustainability credentials and wanted Absolute’s support in presenting Treveth as a leader and expert in sustainable construction, not only demonstrating that they walk the talk but that they are heavily involved in research and projects that aim to change the future of construction for the better.

To support Treveth to achieve its goal of delivering 200 high-quality homes to rent or buy in communities across Cornwall and to create at least 5,000sqm of commercial workspace across Cornwall per year.

Our Solution

Since 2022, Absolute has driven media relations, social media and e-marketing campaigns to raise the profile of Treveth amongst house hunters, business audiences, stakeholders, fellow industry professionals, trade and regional media. Our strategy promotes Treveth as a developer with a purpose – “In Cornwall, For Cornwall” – leading on bringing sustainable homes and commercial developments to benefit local people and the local economy.

Absolute operates a dedicated press office for Treveth. This includes: day-to-day communication with a variety of media outlets; writing and distributing press releases which celebrate important company milestones and business success; responding to journalist requests for information or statements; identifying feature opportunities in trade and business media and monitoring media outlets daily for Treveth coverage. We are the first point of contact for the media when they enquire about Treveth which ensures all responses are dealt with in a timely manner, meet media deadlines, follow key messaging and do not go off brand.

Absolute also provides an event management service to Treveth, strengthening the developer’s relationship with potential customers, stakeholders and the communities in which it builds. These include site launches which gather key industry professionals at Treveth’s newest sites to celebrate the launch of new homes for local people. Absolute is also heavily involved in the marketing and delivery of public consultations on upcoming sites to ensure the local community are kept fully informed on building development that has the potential to go ahead in their area, and to give them an opportunity to provide feedback at such events.

Treveth’s social media accounts are managed by Absolute to grow the developer’s online presence and to reach and engage with a wider audience. Absolute schedules posts across Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky and LinkedIn and monitors and responds to enquiries that come through these channels. Social media posts are scheduled through a professional platform which allows our client to review and approve posts with ease.

Ensuring a consistency across all communications, Absolute manages Treveth’s e-marketing schedule. This includes drafting and distributing regular email campaigns tailored to individual site databases.

To celebrate what Treveth is achieving and assist in raising their profile regionally and nationally, Absolute crafts award entries on behalf of the developer. This activity has resulted in multiple wins including at Insider’s South West Residential Property Awards and the Cornwall Sustainability Awards.

What We Achieved

Absolute secures regular coverage in regional and trade press with stories covering the latest land acquisitions, public consultation announcements, company milestones and community engagement such as school site visits. On average, Absolute achieves 70+ pieces of coverage for Treveth across print and online outlets per year.

Absolute’s event management service includes the marketing of key public consultation events for Treveth’s proposed schemes across the county. One of the schemes Absolute has been heavily involved in promoting is the regeneration of Coinagehall Street at St Anthonys Gardens, Penzance. Promotion of the public consultation events on social media sparked extensive debate with Absolute’s paid activity reaching over 30,000 Facebook accounts. Press releases drafted and distributed by Absolute generated 17 pieces of coverage with a total circulation of 9,050,696+. Absolute also managed the distribution of direct mail to thousands of local residents, and the feedback forms Absolute created for the events gathered 831 responses. Planning consent for the Coinagehall Street regeneration project has now been received.

Social media followers and engagement have increased considerably since Treveth appointed Absolute. From just 187 Facebook likes, the housebuilder now has 650+, Instagram followers have doubled to 380+. Treveth’s LinkedIn page has also seen exceptional growth and has more than tripled in followers, going from 690 in 2022 to 3,000+. The new BlueSky account is growing steadily.

Absolute’s engaging e-marketing schedule ensures contacts on Treveth’s database are regularly kept up-to-date with the latest news and homes available across all sites. Campaigns are designed to generate interest in available new homes, promote incentives and special events, encouraging homeseekers to book appointments. Absolute manages the schedule and retains a well above average open rate and click-through rate for its industry.
