Bringing clients together and adding value
Coming clean
To highlight Cleaner Seas Group’s (CSG) amazing domestic and commercial microfibre washing machine filters to the media, we struck on the idea of bringing CSG, Whalesborough luxury farm resort and spa, and TV naturalist Monty Halls together to provide a compelling package of interviewees.
Monty delivered a respected independent voice on the issue of microfibres in our seas, while Whalesborough, which has filters fitted on 23 of its cottages’ washing machines, delivered a handy on-the-ground case study just three miles from CSG’s Bude headquarters.
Combined with news of Cleaner Seas’ recent global award success in Australia, we not only secured pieces on BBC TV, and ITV, but prominent pieces on radio, online and in print, building reputation and profile for all three parties.
Exploring opportunities together
Having helped Explorer Jim McNeill launch his quest to monitor the health of our oceans through citizen science, we found ourselves in the perfect position to put Jim together with specialist oceanographic and hydrographic instrument manufacturer, Valeport.
The outcome was Valeport’s support in providing its innovative SWiFT CTDplus profiler for Jim’s Foundation expeditions. Measuring ocean conductivity, depth and temperature, Valeport’s instrument has enabled Jim’s team of citizen scientists to test how to record vital ocean data in extreme conditions; part of Ocean Warrior’s Foundation Expeditions to Svalbard in September 2023. Working together, Ocean Warrior will use Valeport’s state-of-the-art instrumentation from 2024 onwards to create a record of the state of the health of the ocean in high arctic waters.
Generating prominent coverage in the mainstream media, including extensive features in the Financial Times and Daily Express, as well as widespread coverage in the specialist marine and environmental titles, this not only highlighted the importance of Jim’s work, but the extensive capabilities of Valeport’s products to an international audience.
