B Corp Month 2025: What does it mean to be a B Corp?
Ahh March. Everything seems a little bit brighter, doesn’t it? We say goodbye to gloomy cold days and hello to spring weather peppered with the sight of sunny daffodils. It also marks the start of B Corp Month 2025, a chance for us to connect with our fellow B Corps, celebrate the community and promote its values.
What is B Corp Month?
Held every March, B Corp Month is a campaign run by B Lab, the non-profit network inspiring and enabling people to use business as a force for good, raising awareness of the B Corp movement. This year’s theme is ‘Gen B’, the generation of people in business who are rooted in action, inspiration and a belief in doing better.
Absolute PR and Marketing is proud to be part of ‘Gen B’, achieving B Corp certification in 2024 with a score of 105.5, something that we are extremely proud of considering the passing score is 80. But for us, it’s more than just a marque. It’s a commitment to society and the planet, leading with purpose to make a real difference in the community in which we work. We use our influence as a force for good, driving meaningful change and contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future.
What does B Corp certification mean to Team Absolute?
As an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT), each member of Team Absolute has a vested interest in the business and will uphold its culture and values for years to come. Here’s what it means to us to be a B Corp certified business:
Rachael
“As a purpose driven individual, my motivation has been compelled by a need to make a difference in life through my actions be they personal or professional.
“As a B Corp-certified business, we join a global movement of thousands using business as a force for good, helping to create positive social and environmental impact and through our employee-owned business, we are building a shared success and ownership that helps our team and wider community thrive. This matters enormously to me and B Corp validates our contribution, guides our ambitions, and helps to cultivate a culture where everyone feels connected to something greater and more meaningful than themselves.”
Tilly
“I don’t just want to work to earn a living; I want my work and my life to have purpose. Being part of a B Corp means that purpose is woven into our daily practices. From showing kindness and respect to one another, our community, and the environment, to engaging in larger initiatives like supporting our purpose-led clients with their work and participating in activities like beach clean-ups. I’m happier working for a B Corp, knowing that my work supports both people and the planet.”
Ewan
“For me, working for a B Corp company means being part of a business that has a focus on purpose, built around positive social and environmental impact, not just profit. That matters, because it helps us focus on the well-being of the communities within which we work, and the future of the planet, bringing us closer as a team. Alongside meaningful, purpose-driven work for clients, we actively play our part in delivering positive social and environmental impact, keeping us well balanced.”
Abi
“Working for a B Corp accredited agency reinforces that what I do matters. I bask in the knowledge that my job is so much more than just making money. It’s about showing up every day and truly making a difference to the community in which I work in. By collaborating with like-minded businesses and helping our clients make a positive impact in everything they do, it makes me feel like I have a purposeful career. It’s what motivates me to get up and get going every day!”
Gill
“To me, being a B Corp is one of our strongest credentials; it makes Absolute stand out as a business that actively prioritises and has evidenced doing business in an ethical and sustainable way. It’s a big flag that shows you can trust us as an agency to do good work for clients, as an ethical partner and supplier. We all know relationships are built on trust and achieving strong, trusted relationships with clients is good for business. I also like that the B Corp certification is an ongoing process—it reflects our commitment to making a positive meaningful impact. However, it also requires the whole team to stay dedicated to sustainability and continuously strive for improvement as we grow and evolve.”
Lola
“Working in marketing, it’s incredibly important to me that my work supports businesses that have a purpose beyond ‘commercial success’. I want to promote and work for companies whose values I feel align with my own. Working for a B Corp means working for a company that looks beyond its own profit, taking a broader view of its place in society, and aiming to contribute towards building a more sustainable and equitable world for all.”
