Redrow charity football event scores £2,900 for theatre company

A Devon-based specialist theatre company for adults with learning difficulties is  £2,900 better off thanks to the fancy footwork and money raised by a five-a-side tournament organised by Redrow Homes West Country.
The funds raised from the competition will provide invaluable support to the participant-led arts and drama charity for adults with learning difficulties, the Get Changed Theatre Company.  Get Changed has been Redrow West Country’s chosen charity for over a year and staff based at Redrow’s Exeter head office regularly host events to raise vital funds for the charity.
Nineteen teams made up of Redrow staff, subcontractors and consultants took part in the first Redrow West Country football tournament, hosted at the Goals Soccer Centre in Plymouth.
The main competition winners at the football tournament were Contour Brickwork Services Ltd, who beat CC Carpentry 3-1 in the final. The competition hosts had a respectable showing, with Redrow’s own five-a-side team making it to the semi-finals of the plate competition, although rival house builder Linden Homes took the top slot in this competition beating Focus 5-2.
Reuben Cooke, Redrow (West Country) Technical Manager, who organised the competition, said: “It was a really good fun event, bringing together lots of people in the construction industry. We’d like to thank all our subcontractors and suppliers who contributed to make it such a successful event.  We’re delighted to have raised £2900 for Get Changed and to have had such a good time in the process.”
Christine Munkenbeck, Get Changed said: “We are so grateful to Redrow West Country for their continued support. The fundraising from events such as this football tournament has an incredible impact on our charity and directly upon the adults with learning difficulties whom we support.  Thank you to Redrow and all who took part in the tournament.”
Redrow West Country are currently selling new homes across the region at the following locations: Bishops Court and The Harringtons in Exeter, Stanbury Meadows in Newton Abbot, Moorland Reach in Kingsteignton, Glenwood Park in Barnstaple, College Park in Bideford, Clifton Heights in Holsworthy, Otter Grange in Ottery St Mary, Warren Grove in Dawlish, and Vision and Hillcrest in Plymouth.
