Devon Contract Waste

The challenge
To raise awareness of Devon Contract Waste’s innovative mixed commercial waste collection service, Zero to Landfill credentials and highlight the company’s positive impact on the environment and communities.
Our solutions
Absolute developed a multi-channel communications strategy to raise and maintain Devon Contract Waste’s profile among regional businesses and communities, focusing on the company’s differentiating factors, including a personal approach to customer service, its commitment to recycling as a priority over waste-to-energy, and charity work in Exeter, Devon and Africa.
Absolute operated as a press office to place key news stories with regional and trade media, and leveraged digital channels including website, blog, e-communications and social media to manage Devon Contract Waste’s reputation with customers, stakeholders and media.
What we achieved
Regular media coverage has been achieved in local and trade media, promoting Devon Contract Waste’s new business wins, satisfied customers and charity activities. A programme of e-communications was developed alongside a new blog to maintain engagement with existing and prospective customers and a new social media strategy was created. Absolute’s crisis communications-trained team also provided support when fire destroyed Devon Contract Waste’s Envirohub HQ in early 2017, co-ordinating media statements and interviews, social media activities, and customer e-communications during the crisis and in the months that followed. Devon Contract Waste’s profile and customer portfolio continue to grow with 2017 set to be the firm’s most successful year to date.
