Absolute adds Visit South Devon to client list

Exeter-based Absolute PR & Marketing has chalked up its latest new business win for 2015 with news of its appointment to manage Visit South Devon’s regional, national and international PR for the coming year.
Visit South Devon is the official tourism body for the South Hams and Teignbridge, working with tourism businesses and attractions to help raise the profile of the area as a destination for both national and international visitors.
Rachael Whitson, Managing Director of Absolute PR & Marketing, commented:  “South Devon is one of the most stunning parts of the country and we’re looking forward to raising its profile with journalists and members of the public.  We have a series of exciting campaigns planned that are each designed to attract growing numbers of visitors to the area and which will play a key part in elevating the profile of Teignbridge and the South Hams nationally and internationally.
“We’ll be targeting geographical hot-spots for domestic trips.  We’ll also be launching a series of initiatives that have been created to drive increasing numbers of visitors to South Devon in the critical off-peak periods; a time when tourism businesses are in most need of support and income.”
Stephanie Cherrett, General Manager for Visit South Devon, said: “South Devon encompasses some of the region’s most dramatic and breathtaking countryside as well as miles of captivating coastline.  From Teignmouth to Torcross, Shaldon to Salcombe we have some of the most beautiful destinations to visit in the country and we want to shout about that fact.  With Absolute’s help we plan to lift the profile of South Devon among new and familiar audiences, driving increasing volumes of enquiries to our site and vital bookings for businesses that advertise with us on www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk.”

Visit South Devon becomes the third piece of new business won by Absolute PR & Marketing in recent months.  Earlier this year the Exeter agency won the prestigious Redrow Homes Westcountry Division account and more recently it added Prolojik, a specialist lighting control systems provider for commercial, public sector and high volume residential developments, to its list of clients.
Visit South Devon is a Community Interest Company that exists solely for the benefit of the local tourism community.  It is a public-private company limited by guarantee and is not for profit – ensuring all revenue is put back into marketing initiatives for the area.
